The BIO Conference and Exhibition will take place this year in Washington DC, USA
between 27-30 June, 2011.
As in previous years, the Office of the Chief Scientist and MATIMOP will run an Israeli pavilion
in the exhibition Hall A, booth #3737
17 Life Sciences companies will present their technologies and products in the Israeli pavilion.

The Chief Scientist, Mr. Avi Hasson, will participate in the BIO Conference which is adjacent to the Exhibition.

In this framework, the Israeli delegation to the event will hold a session in the track of International Case Studies which titled Creating Biomedical Innovation in Israel: Reciprocal Relationship of University, Industry and Government. This seminar will present structures from various types to create, support and enhance business activity of life sciences companies in Israel. It will focus on governmental structures; public-private structures and private structures. The supporting models are not necessarily limited to financial support; they concentrate on the entire value chain of life sciences industry, beginning with early R&D stages up to final clinical trials and commercialization of the products. All these structures involve the encouragement of international cooperation between the companies and their introduction to global markets.
The session will take place on Wednesday, June 29th, between 15:00 – 15:45, at Room 145B, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Mt. Vernon Place, NW, Washington D.C., 20001

In addition, the U.S.-Israel Business Initiative will host a Bio-Technology forum hosting a delegation of companies from Israel. This half-day forum will include high-level discussions with American and Israeli business leaders and government officials on Israel’s biotech sector and specific areas for US-Israeli collaboration as well as facilitating individual meetings with the Israeli companies.
The event will take place on Monday, June 27, between 08:00-14:00 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 1615 H Street, NW.
Seventeen of the participating companies won a national competition organized by MATIMOP (the National Agency for Industrial R&D Cooperation), and the Israel Life Sciences Industry (ILSI).
