As reported in IVC, Doron Kempel sold his previous start-up, Diligent Technologies, to IBM for a reported $170 million.

Two and a half years after selling his start-up Diligent Technologies to IBM, Doron Kempel led his current venture SimpliVT in raising $9.2 million.
The company reported the funding to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the SEC filing, 8 investors participated in the current funding.

Altogether the firm has raised $10 million since its founding.

The company remains very private, without even a website. It is apparently developing computer infrastructure software.

IBM reportedly paid about $170 million for Diligent Technologies. VC firms that backed Diligent include Accel Partners, Gemini Israel Funds, and Matrix Partners. It is likely that some of them also backed Kempel’s current venture.

As far as is known, the company does not have operations in Israel. It is based in Waltham, Massachusetts. However, Kempel set up Diligent’s headquarters in Boston and R&D in Israel, and may do the same now.
