On the 13th of September, the Israel Trade Commission, in collaboration with the Innovation Circle, was proud to convene a discussion on technological innovation in the airline industry called the ‘International Airlines Innovation Day’.

The event was a unique opportunity for major players in the airline industry to have an open dialogue and share valuable insights and experiences around technology in their field. The event was attended by a number of high profile Australian and International Airlines and Airports.

A number of Israeli companies with disruptive solutions for the airline industry presented to the industry, including;

BidFlyer – empowers airlines to sell their unsold seats using real-time auctions. It has partnerships with world class airlines and has offices in Tel Aviv and Boston, with another office soon to open in Beijing.

BioNexus – provides a real-time work-flow processing platform for the aeronautics sector  that allows for more efficient service and maintenance operations

Ecosi – offers airlines eco-friendly disposable tableware and food packaging solutions. Their products are made from a natural fibre derived from sugar cane pulp called Suprapulp, which has a number of advantages over other materials often used in the heavy duty catering industry.

Genie –  provides healthy, eco-friendly food pods that can be conveniently heated to suit various food preferences and restrictions.

Idomoo – provides personalised mass video content to increase customer engagement

Israel Aerospace Industries – a globally recognized leader in the development and production of systems for the defense and commercial markets.

MyleFly – the first and only trading platform that lets frequent flyers cash out the miles they accumulate in loyalty accounts. The company has a partnership with Israel’s flagship carrier, El Al.

Revuze – a brand management platform that offers airlines insights into what their customers are thinking. Through comprehensive data analysis, Revuze is able to provide useful insights and drill down into the specifics of the customer experience.

Silentium – provides noise reduction solutions. Their microchip-based technology captures and manipulates surrounding sound waves and can be embedded in headrests on planes, effectively turning them into noise-cancelling aeroplane seats.

TravelersBox – operates kiosks in airports that allow travellers to convert their leftover currency into the online space through eWallets (PayPal, Qiwi, Neteller), gift cards (iTunes, Skype, Starbucks, etc.) and online donations.
