Folk music on the Sea of Galilee
Monday, June 27th, 2011The annual Jacob’s Ladder Festival attracts a variety of musicians from several countries, plus thousands of fans.
The Jacob’s Ladder Festival might take place off the main folk music circuit on the banks of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel, but this jamboree is known around the world. The festival regularly attracts international music groups from North America and Europe.
“There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t get an email from someone who wants to appear at our festival,” says organizer Yehudit Vinegrad.
Once only an attraction for English-speaking immigrants, today the 3,000 attendees include native Israelis and international visitors as well.
