Carved Gemstones Exhibition Opens at the Israel Diamond Museum

On September 7, 2010, a new exhibition titled ‘And Thou Shalt Breathe Life into a Gem’ featuring carved gemstones from the Idar-Oberstein collection opened at the Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum in Ramat Gan, Israel’s diamond center.

Those present at the opening ceremony included Israel’s Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer; Ramat Gan Mayor Tzvi Bar; Israel Diamond Exchange President Avi Paz; Deputy German Ambassador to Israel Peter Prugel; Chairman of the German Foundation and the Idar-Oberstein Diamond and Precious Stones Museum Dieter Hahn; Chairman of the Diamond Museum Shmuel Schnitzer; a number of gemcutters from the Idar-Oberstein region, Erwin Pauly and his son, and many other representatives of the Israeli diamond and gemstone sectors.
