The Technion is Israel’s most prestigious technological university and is credited with being the applied, academic powerhouse behind Israel’s high tech prowess and consequently its outstanding economic success. Technion graduates have founded or head two thirds of the Israeli companies listed on NASDAQ.
Professor Lavie will be sharing his views on the processes and procedures undertaken by The Technion that has made it world renowned for commercialisation. The Technion focuses on three main industries for their commercialisation activity; Clean-Tech, IT and Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. He will also introduce the most recent technologies coming out of the Technion, which can be viewed by clicking here.
Professor Peretz Lavie is a world renowned sleep research scientist, who was appointed President in 2009 after eight years as Vice President for Resource Development and External Relations and prior to that, six years as Dean of the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.
He has been a key player in the Technion’s growth over the last decade and it is his vision of the Technion as a truly international university of world standing that is driving the new International School of Engineering and New York’s new high tech university, the Technion Cornell Innovation Institute.
