The Jerusalem Municipality, the Jerusalem Development Authority Tourism Department, the Jerusalem Hotels Association and the Israel Ministry of Tourism have launched a comprehensive website showcasing the many cultural and tourist options on offer in Jerusalem. . The website provides updated information on cultural events and festivals, as well as useful information on Jerusalem’s many tourist sites, religious, historical and cultural, as well as a full listing of hotels and other tourist accommodation. The website includes contact information, opening hours, wheelchair accessibility etc.

Highlights from Jerusalem’s cultural 2011 calendar include:

 May 18 – July 28, Jerusalem Season of Culture: Among the highlights: International Philosophy Festival; Merce Cunningham Legacy Tour;; evening performances in Mahane Yehuda market every Monday in July and Renee Fleming finale concert on 28 July

  • May 24 – June 16, Israel Festival: a three-week celebration of the performing arts celebrating its Jubilee with a rich selection of dance, theater, jazz, classical, Israeli and world music, with international and Israeli performers.
  • 15-22 June, Jerusalem Light Festival: The Old City will host ten international light artists alongside dozens of performances, tours, artists, sites and more.
  • 2-6 June, Jerusalem Opera Festival: as part of the Masada Opera Festival, Jerusalem will host various opera performances. 
  • 7-16 July, International Film Festival: 200 local and international films will be screened at the Jerusalem Cinematheque
  • August, Wine-Tasting Festival at the Israel Museum
  • 14-19 August, Puppet Theater Festival for children and families
  • 15-27 August, Hutzot Hayotzer International Arts and Crafts Fair with artists, concerts and more. 
  • 18-19 August, Jerusalem Beer Festival at the Old Train Station
  • September, Houses from Within: Jerusalem’s most beautiful private homes, synagogues and gardens open for public view for one weekend.
  • Late August-September, Chamber Music Festival at the YMCA.
  • 6,13,20,27 October, Jerusalem Knights Festival reenacts the Middle Ages in the alleys of the Old City.
  • October, Jerusalem March: choose between a 6 or 12 km march through the streets of Jerusalem during the Succot festival, followed by performances and live music
  • November, the Ouf Festival: two weeks with unique music, cultures and traditions.
  • 1-3, 8-10, 15-17 December, Hot Winter, Long Nights: three fun weekends centering around tourism, food, culture and entertainment with, among others, interactive night tours, live entertainment city-wide.
