2014 VISTECH Call for Proposals

The Victoria-Israel Science and Technology R&D Program (VISTECH)

 

MATIMOP, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in Israel, and the State Government of Victoria, Australia through the Department of State Development, Business and Innovation (DSDBI), invite Israeli and Victorian companies to submit joint proposals for industrial Research and Development projects under the 2014 VISTECH Call for Proposals (CFP), launched on February 17, 2014.

VISTECH, the Victoria-Israel Science and Technology R&D Program, provides partner matching assistance and access to funding for Israeli companies and Victorian companies engaged in collaborative R&D projects in all technology fields.

Phase I Applications (“Bilateral Cooperation Form”) under the current CFP are due no later than May 15, 2014.

IMPORTANT DATES  

§   Feb 17, 2014: Launch of VISTECH 2014 Call for Proposals

§   Feb 17 – May 15, 2014: Expression of Interest & Partner-Matching

§   May 15, 2014: Deadline for Phase I Applications (“Bilateral Cooperation Form”)

§   June 5, 2014: Notification to companies of approval of Phase I

§   July 11, 2014 : Deadline for Phase II Applications (“Full Application”)

WHO CAN APPLY?

Joint projects must involve at least one Victorian and one Israeli company and may involve more than one organization from each jurisdiction. Academic and research institutions are not eligible to apply for funding directly, however, they may serve as subcontractors.

The projects must involve cooperation by the applicants on joint, market driven, science and technology-related R&D of new products, processes or services. The project contributions by the Victorian and Israeli applicants must be fairly balanced.

Projects in any sector or field are appropriate, including but not limited to the following disciplines or technologies:

  • Biotechnology;
  • Information and Communication Technology;
  • Small Technologies, including Nano technologies and Micro technologies; or
  • Clean Technologies.

FUNDING SUPPORT

In Victoria

Successful Victorian applicants are awarded grant funds by DSDBI. The maximum grant amount is AUD$250,000 excluding GST, and up to 50% of R&D expenses.  Companies can apply for less than this amount. Companies are required to make a co-contribution of an equal or greater value than the grant amount requested.

In Israel

The total funding from the Government of Israel via the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) will be provided in the form of a soft loan and will not exceed 50% of the eligible and approved costs of the R&D, in accordance with the national laws and regulations.
HOW CAN I APPLY?

1. Read completely the attached VISTECH Program Guidelines

2. Contact the program manager to express interest and begin the application process

3. Israeli Applicants – Create a company profile on the MATIMOP website to get a username and password to access to the online application system .

4. Apply! Israeli applicants, submit your Bilateral Cooperation form online. Victorian applicants should submit their forms to DSDBI VISTECH Program manager. Applications are due May 15, 2014.

Israeli Companies Seeking Victorian Partners

Please fill out a Partner Search Form and submit it via the MATIMOP online application system (First create an Account/Request a password here and Login here ).

Victorian Companies Seeking Israeli Partners

Prospective Victorian applicants searching for Israeli partners should submit an online Expression of Interest form on the DSDBI VISTECH website .  The essential details of this form include the full Company details together with a brief description of the area of interest. The applicant then completes and submits an online Partner Search Form to DSDBI.
